Continuing Jura's tradition of innovation and excellence, the Jura Impressa Z6 with P.E.P. is a bean to cup coffee center with 12 programmable one-touch beverage options and a number of innovations that raise the bar for automatic espresso brewing. Taking its name from the unique pulse extraction process used to produce specialty beverages of greater intensity and flavor, the Z6 is equipped with Jura's latest Aroma G3 grinder for faster and quieter grinding and an RFID capable water reservoir for intelligent water filtration.

Customize a dozen beverages with your preferred strength, volume, and temperature. You can even nickname your favorites for an encore at the touch of a button. Rounding out the package are Jura's rotary switch and the full color TFT display that makes navigation and programming easy and intuitive so you can spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the coffee you love.

Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.) Brewing

The Z6 is the first machine from Jura to employ their innovative Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.) brewing system. As opposed to a constant flow, water is instead pulsed through the grounds in short intervals that extract greater intensity and aroma while shortening the overall brew time. With P.E.P. short specialty beverages like espresso and ristretto can be prepared with greater clarity and flavor than ever before.

Programmable Coffee Specialties

The true beauty of the Z6 are the 12 customizable one-touch drink options the can selected from the menu on the TFT display. Jura allows you to program each aspect of the drink down to your exact specifications and you can even give nicknames to your favorite beverages. The machine brews with a 15 bar high-performance pump and stainless steel-lined, aluminum thermoblock heating system. The Variable Brewing Unit lets you prepare your drinks with anywhere from 5-16 grams of coffee and the Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System (I.P.B.A.S.) soaks the grounds prior to brewing for richer espresso extraction.

The amount of water used per beverage, coffee strength (10 settings), brewing temperature (3 settings) and hot water temperature (3 settings) can all be programmed to your liking. Once a beverage selection has been made, the Z6 will grind, tamp, and brew your coffee or espresso and froth milk for any specialty drinks. Both the coffee and milk spouts are height adjustable to accommodate cups between 3.2 - 6 inches (coffee) and 3.2 - 6 inches (milk) respectively. Both spouts can be set to illuminate your cups with white or amber light while brewing.

Aroma G3 Grinder, Bean Hopper, and Bypass Doser

P.E.P. brewing isn't the only new feature the Z6 brings to the table. Jura's pursuit of espresso perfection has also led to the development of the Aroma G3 grinder. Using conical steel burrs, the Aroma G3 grinds quickly and gently thanks to the perfected cutting angles that produce 60% less residual grounds. The result is a quieter grinder that preserves more of the flavor and aroma of the freshly ground beans while operating twice as fast. Depending on your preferences, the grinder can be set to one of six degrees of fineness.

The bean hopper located on top of the machine prevents beans from clumping with a vented design that feeds them separately into the grinder. The hopper can hold up to 9.9oz of whole bean coffee and features an aroma preservation lid to seal in freshness. Lastly, the hopper actively monitors the level of beans and will alert you when it needs to be refilled. The Z6 is also equipped with a bypass doser that allows you to fill the brew group directly using pre-ground coffee.

Milk Frothing and Hot Water

In order to produce hotter milk beverages quicker than ever, the milk system on the Z6 has no wait time when transitioning between frothed and steamed milk. Milk volumes for all beverages can be adjusted by time (in seconds) with specific durations set for your preferred type of milk (steamed or frothed). Additionally, milk temperature can be set to one of 10 settings for both steaming and frothing for incredibly customizable beverage specialties.

The milk spouts also double as a hot water dispenser for drinks like tea and cocoa and can be set to dispense at one of 3 temperature settings with adjustable volume.

Reservoir and Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.®)

The water reservoir features a number of unique attributes that distinguish it from other Jura models. Located on the left side of the machine, the reservoir can hold up to 81oz and features blue light illumination. The Z6 is one of the first Jura machines to use RFID technology for automatic recognition of water filters and accurate monitoring of their lifespan. For easier access and refilling, the water reservoir is completely removable from the front of the machine.

TFT Display and Rotary Switch

Navigating the menus of the Z6 is made easy and intuitive thanks to the rotary switch and full color TFT (Thin Film Transistor) display. The rotary switch (a Jura innovation) makes it easy to browse and select beverages, program drink settings and other menu options. The vibrant full color display showcases all possible drink options and displays the status of the beverage you're currently brewing. The display also provides assistance in the form of maintenance alerts to let you know when machine needs your attention.

Energy Settings

To save energy when not in use, the Z6 features an energy save function and a Zero-Energy Switch. When in Energy Save Mode (E.S.M) the machine enters a low power mode to reduce consumption from 16 watt-hour to 6 watt-hour. This feature will help you cut down on energy costs as well as minimize the machine’s impact on the environment.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Z6 has integrated rinsing, cleaning and descaling programs and can be programmed with your water hardness for more accurate maintenance feedback. The machine also monitors the levels of the water reservoir, bean hopper and drip tray. Alerts are communicated via the TFT display when something needs to be addressed. Included with the machine is a multi-compartment milk system container designed for use when cleaning the milk spouts with Jura's Rinza milk frother cleaner.
